It is important to know how to write resumes that will get you hired. You would be surprised to know how many people don’t know how to write a good resume or cover letter. The art of resume writing is one you will need to master if you want to be competitive in today’s job market. It takes a great deal of work, but it is wise to make different types resumes for different types of jobs you are applying to.
Do more then email your resume to job ads in the classifieds or postings on job search sites. It is a good idea to contact the employer personally or at a minimum follow up with them. Get to know them, if you can. You know you are the person they need to hire, but they don’t know that, and they won’t know that until you show them. An incomplete or basic resume means that the employer is taking a big risk if they decide to hire you. Your resume is the first impression to employers, so make sure you are sending them the right message.
